My favourite thing is detail. I love the tiniest bits of what I'm painting. I work to finish the 'big' stuff to get to the small stuff. I love the ability to layer the colours, finding the base I need to build the finished details is a fascinating challenge I never tire of. This was a large piece and set to go to the 92nd Annual juried Open Water show at the John B. Aird Gallery in Toronto (2017) with the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. I had a deadline and hoped to pass the jury. I was so happy to have it accepted. I get asked how long it takes. This painting took several months of full time painting.
